Highland, WI Home

To the left is a gallery of a home built by LifeTime Structures in 2011. This home has the following attributes:

  • 3,036 square feet of finished space
  • Passive solar design
  • 3.8 kW solar photovoltaic (electric), ground mounted system that will provide nearly 5,000 kWh per year and is expected to nearly elminate all of the utility bills for the homeowner
  • Geothermal system connected to in-floor heat
  • The heating and cooling system is programmed to utilize time-of-use. This means it will use electricity at off-peak rates at night to heat the house. This electrical strategy has drastically reduced the home's heating bill.
  • This house also uses a dehumidification system in the summer to reduce the need for air conditioning
  • Energy modeling shows that the heating, cooling, and hot water costs are expected to be $250 per year, before active solar production
